For at least five more years Jimmy Fallon will host the successful “Tonight Show”, as it is now known.

Presenter and comedian Jimmy Fallon (46) will present “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” for at least five more years. The US broadcaster NBC now has this during a presentation according to a report by the industry magazine “Variety” announced. According to this, Fallon is said to have signed a new five-year contract some time ago.

Other shows more popular recently

The “Tonight Show” is considered to be one of the most successful late-night shows in the world, even if other formats have recently been more popular with US viewers. According to the report, more people tuned into The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Fallon’s job was never in danger and a discontinuation of the format is therefore out of the question for the broadcaster.

Fallon has hosted the “Tonight Show” since the beginning of 2014. His predecessors include legendary US talkers such as Johnny Carson (1925-2005) and Jay Leno (71). Conan O’Brien (58) was also briefly seen as a moderator of the format.
