The Bridgerton Chronicle: a character killed by a bee

In detail, at the start of the third episode, a flashback sequence shows us a young Anthony Bridgerton, in an excellent mood, who goes hunting, notably accompanied by his father. And this, shortly before events take a tragic turn. It was after bending over to pick flowers to give to his wife that Edmund’s character was targeted by a bee who, the next moment, inflicted a fatal sting in the neck.

The young Anthony, witness of the scene, looks up and sees his dad unable to breathe. He only has time to catch up with it before it collapses… After which, Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), Anthony’s mother, pregnant, rushes towards her husband, who will end up dying in her arms. Grief-stricken, Violet bursts into tears, before ordering Anthony to make sure the other children don’t see their father’s body. A dramatic event that allows us to better understand the trauma suffered by young Anthony, and the repercussions it could have in his adult life…
