The Trainee on France 3: will there be a season 8?

While the broadcast of the new season 7 of “La Stagiaire” ends this evening on France 3, the successful series led by Michèle Bernier and Antoine Hamel will soon be back for six new episodes.

The adventures of Constance Meyer and judge Boris Delcourt still have a bright future ahead of them on France 3.

Launched only two weeks ago, the unpublished season 7 of La Stagiaire is already coming to an end this evening on the air with the broadcast of the last two episodes, entitled “Black widow” and “The present time”.

Shortened to just six episodes, compared to eight during seasons 3 to 6, this seventh batch does not however demerit in terms of audiences, far from it, since for its first evening of broadcast on September 27, La Stagiaire gathered an average of 4.88 million viewers, or 24.8% of the public. Far ahead of Mask Singer and his 2.79 million followers on TF1.

Excellent scores, which even manage to exceed the launch of season 6 in 2021 (4.59 million viewers), and which were confirmed last Tuesday in week 2, even if the legal series posted a slight drop with ” only” 4.54 million curious people gathered in front of episodes 3 and 4 of season 7.

A season 8 already in the box…

Faced with these very good audiences, which allowed it to be leader two Tuesdays in a row, France 3 would be wrong to deprive itself of Michèle Bernier. And, very fortunately for the fans, it is obviously not planned for immediately since The Intern is guaranteed to return for a season 8… which is already filmed!

Indeed, Michèle Bernier, Antoine Hamel, Philippe Lelièvre, Nicolas Marié and the whole team of the successful series met last April in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region (La Stagiaire is shot between Marseille and Aix- en-Provence) to box six new investigations.

The filming of the eighth season was completed on July 8, as evidenced by the video below posted by Michèle Bernier on her Instagram account. And these six new episodes, in which David Baiot, Joakim Latzko (More beautiful life), and François-Eric Gendron will appear as guests, should logically arrive on France 3 during 2023.

Still with Nicolas Marié, alias the prosecutor Vladimir Quiring, in the cast since, despite the departure of his character for Russia, the actor assured our colleagues from Télé Star that he would be present in season 8. Despite a presence at the screen a little reduced.

“He’s going to come back, but we mustn’t say it! I will still be much less present than usual in the last episodes of the eighth season because I had a very bad Covid which forced me to interrupt filming of La Stagiaire and the one undertaken with my comrade Albert Dupontel (for the film Second Tour, editor’s note)”.

… and a season 9 in writing!

And as good news never comes alone, fans of the series will also be delighted to learn that a season 9 is already looming!

“Season 8 is already filmed, and season 9 is in writing”confided to us recently Anne Holmes, director of programs and director of fiction at France Télévisions, during a major interview devoted to the many fictions of France 2 and France 3.

The chain therefore does not even wait for the hearings to renew La Stagiaire. Which is proof of the success of the series which continues to be a hit on France 3, like most of the channel’s detective stories such as Alex Hugo or the “Meurtres à…” collection.
