It was four years ago, and the wound is still open. That day, on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, 86 people were killed, hundreds more were injured or traumatized. To pay tribute to the victims, singer Calogero wrote a song, entitled Fireworks, whose words had moved the whole of France. "We were going to the fireworks / See these stars not long ago / Which are born, which shine and then which slide / Falling back towards the ocean / And that makes starfish / It puts in the eyes of children / Des ephemeral constellations / And we remember them when we are grown up. "

Saturday, August 29, during the blind auditions of The Voice Kids, Ilan, an 11-year-old boy from Nice paid tribute to the victims and to his city by performing this song. “Me, what I like about music is to convey messages through my songs. This song is important to me, because I am from Nice and it was sung by Calogero during the commemoration for the Nice attack. I'm only 11 years old, but I want to pay tribute ”, did he declare.

A strong emotion

His performance not only moved viewers, but also the coaches, Jenifer, Kendji Girac, Soprano and Patrick Fiori, who all turned around. “It's a great choice of song. We rediscovered it thanks to you ”, Jenifer thanked him. "We are moved, you know", admitted Patrick Fiori. "That's the way he sang it, we knew there was something behind", added Soprano. Little Ilan has therefore managed to integrate the show thanks to this beautiful tribute and his beautiful voice. He ultimately chose to join the Soprano team.
