Ukraine is said to have around twenty Bayraktar TB2s, used to hit Russian trucks and tanks. Weapons that also allow Turkey to increase its diplomatic aura.

It is the flagship of the Turkish military industry and a centerpiece in the war in Ukraine: the Bayraktar TB2 drone. Very competitive, it combines high performance and reduced costs: it sells for around 5 million dollars (4.6 million euros), against 20 million dollars (18.3 million euros) for an American device. Built by the firm Baykar – whose technical director is none other than Selcuk Bayraktar, a young engineer trained in the United States and husband of the youngest daughter of President Erdogan – Turkish drones are attracting growing interest and orders in cascade: To date, nine countries are using them and sixteen others are in the process of ordering.

“No political conditions”

Ukraine would have around twenty TB2s. From the first hours of the conflict, they hit the mark, targeting columns of supply trucks and Russian tanks. These strikes quickly gave the impression that the Russians did not fully master the airspace.
