The Twisted Metal series has found its audience

As NBCUniversal confirmed to the specialized site Deadline, this adaptation of the combat game conveyed by David Jaffe in the mid-90s is now the series that has been the most “bingeed” in the Peacock catalog in the comedy category. According to the data provided, the viewer watched an average of three episodes at once, when some got carried away by Sweet Tooth and his “friends” to engulf the 10 episodes of the season in one go.

In fact, and contrary to most expectations, the public said they were very pleasantly surprised by the creation of Michael Jonathan, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, authors and producers known in particular for Cobra-Kai, zombieland And Dead Pool. On the famous aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, Twisted Metal is thus displayed with a 94% positive opinion from spectators against 68% for opinions from the specialized press. The series features Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Will Arnett, Samoa Joe and Neve Campbell.

If in normal times the very good reception of the series would quickly call for the confirmation of a season 2, as was the case for example for The Last of Us on HBO, things are more complicated for the moment given the important strike scriptwriters and Hollywood actors, which began in May for the former and in July for the latter.

For the time being, international and especially European audiences would already like to know when and where it will be possible to legally watch Twisted Metal. According to a message from Michael Jonathan dated 5 August, Sony is working on the issue. Remember that according to rumor, the return of Twisted Metal in video games is in preparation at Firesprite. The franchise hasn’t seen a new installment since 2012, but Twisted Metal and Twisted Metal World Tour are available in the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.
