the ultimate game? New leaks sell dreams

Assassin’s Creed Red is once again the target of leaks of all kinds, and this time, we are promised big changes for the future. Will they please all the fans, that’s the question we can ask ourselves.

Among the future Assassin’s Creed projects, there is one that piqued the curiosity of players a little more than the others. The opus labeled Red, which is not necessarily a definitive name, is the subject of numerous theories. Above all, it caused joy among fans, because they will finally have a big license game taking place in feudal Japan. However, it is very discreet, and Ubisoft does not seem to want to highlight it any time soon. It is therefore the leaks which are responsible for telling us more, and in fact, we have had some news concerning it.

Assassin’s Creed Red, a game very different from the others?

Today’s news comes to us from leaker j0nathan who has a rather good reputation within the community. He has just released a video on Youtube where he gives a certain number of details regarding Assassin’s Creed Red. He begins by explaining that there will be fewer markers on the map, fewer indications to guide the player, a bit like Elden Ring or AC Odyssey with its “unguided” mode.

The map will also potentially be larger than that of Valhalla, but smaller than that of Odyssey. Overall, this AC promises to be harder and more immersive than its predecessors. And that’s not all ! There will obviously be new game mechanics borrowed from another FromSoftware game. We are described as saying that there would be a grappling hook that would work like that of Sekiro, but a little less guided. The insider talks about manual grappling. We would also find a posture bar which would recall that of the FromSoftware title.

The great return of infiltration and more?

In addition, the game should strengthen infiltration with new mechanics. For example, it would be possible to lie down on your stomach and hide in the environment (tall grass, behind low walls, etc.). He also adds that like a Splinter Cell, one should be able to hide in the shadows and put out torches to create hiding places. Assassin’s Creed obliges, we will also have gadgets at our disposal. Depending on the character you play, you would obviously have access to kunaïs, shurikens, bells or smoke bombs. Finally, we would witness the birth of a new system called Spy. The latter would offer to invade camps and spare the commander to make him a spy in your pay.

You will have understood, if we are to believe this new information, there would be very big changes in the air, including in terms of graphics. The insider does not guarantee that the game will be impressive, but he does affirm that there would be a real graphical improvement compared to other recent Assassin’s Creeds. In any case, it’s a nice list of modifications, and it could clearly offer a second wind to the franchise. However, some fans are not convinced and are already complaining about these potential changes. Will it still feel like we’re playing an AC title? Some fans are wondering.

Another leak has surfaced

Insiders regularly bring us information on Assassin’s Creed Red, even if we have to take it all with a grain of salt. One of the most reliable of them, Tom Henderson, affirmed that the open world action-RPG will offer two playable characters. A shinobi and an African samurai. His remarks were more or less validated by two different elements. First of all, Pierre Boudreau, who writes for the title, had updated his LinkedIn banner with an artwork of the game showing one of the two presumed protagonists. Then, the media Insider Gaming recently declared that one of the two playable characters will be Yasuke, an African samurai who actually existed.

If this proves true, which seems quite credible, we will face a real turning point for the series. This will be the first time that we play a historical figurine that really existed in an Assassin’s Creed. Generally speaking, the franchise offers us the opportunity to meet historical characters, but not to play them. Obviously, his story is not going to be exactly the same in the game. That said, once again, you have to take it in perspective, but it makes your mouth water.
