Known as the founder of Restos du Coeur, Coluche saw his photo become one of the emblems of the Enfoirés. But the story behind it is not trivial.

A bizarre context. Almost forty years ago, in 1985, Coluche founded Les Restos du Coeur. A few months later, shortly before his death, he also hosted an evening on TF1 during which many artists and personalities gathered. This was the first evening of Les Enfoirés. Since 1992, the Enfoirés concert has taken place every year. To pay tribute to the one who is at the origin of everything, an emblematic photo of Coluche has been juxtaposed with the Restos du Coeur logo. Having become one of the most famous photos of the man whose real name was Michel Colucci, this photo of Gaston Bergeret does not have a trivial history.

In 2015, Romain and Marius Colucci were Thomas Sotto’s guests on European 1. On this occasion, the two sons of Coluche took the opportunity to reveal the secrets of this photo. While he was in Cannes for the Festival in June 1985, the photographer demanded a photo from the actor who did not seem determined to give him time. “At one point he said to her: ‘Here, if you want I have two minutes you can take your picture’. In fact, he went to the bathroom and he left the door open”, said Marius Colucci. An anecdote that brings a lot of humor to this photo full of sweetness.

The story of the anthem requested by Coluche

In addition to behind the scenes of the photo, which has become inseparable from the Restos du Coeur and the Enfoirés, the anthem also quickly convinced everyone. However, its composer, Jean-Jacques Goldman, will not have been entitled to morea week to prepare it. In December 1985, Coluche returned to the singer’s dressing room and entrusted him with this mission. “We need a song for the Restos du Coeur, something that is a hit, that will make us earn a lot of money. You know how to do”he says to the artist, asking him to be ready for the following week, reports Le Figaro. The sequel will show that indeed Jean-Jacques Goldman knows how to make songs that “carve out”.
