At the end of March, leaker Ice Universe announced the arrival of an update on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which would focus on improving the photo part. At the editorial office, we were particularly impressed by the performance of the smartphone in this area, as we mentioned in our test. We still noted a slight disappointment in terms of color and light management. That’s good, that’s precisely what this famous bet is supposed to improve.
Indeed, Ice Universe mentioned last March a better white balance as well as a better quality zoom. So there’s plenty to look forward to if you take a lot of photos with your smartphone. Unfortunately, we will obviously have to wait a long time. A few weeks ago, Ice Universe mentioned a global deployment for April. The month is certainly not over, but it is now well underway, and it is very likely that the update will not arrive immediately.

In a tweet published yesterday, Ice Universe returns to the deployment date of the update. He claims that it was ultimately delayed by Samsung. From now on, it is better to wait for the latter for the month of June. A significant delay, the cause of which we do not know. It’s just as possible that the leaker was wrong about the initial date that Samsung needs more time to work out the details.
Indeed, on closer inspection, this is not a big surprise. Since the Galaxy S22, Samsung has had a habit of deploying an update that corrects the photo at the beginning of summer. The timing for the month of April therefore seemed a little short compared to what the manufacturer has accustomed us to so far. A little patience therefore, the deployment window for June is most probably the right one.
