The Utoya massacre: a moving documentary to see on myCANAL on February 21

The documentary “The Utoya massacre, the survivors tell their story” gives the floor to five survivors of the terrorist attack committed in Norway by the far-right activist, Anders Behring Breivik, on July 22, 2011.

That day, after blowing up a car in front of the government headquarters in Oslo, he goes to the island of Utoya where he poses as a policeman in charge of securing the camp for young laborers. On the spot, he begins to open fire. In total, 77 people – mostly teenagers – will be killed by his hand. For the survivors, the psychological damage is immense, and will settle permanently in their existence.

How do you recover from such a tragedy, ten years after the events? Five witnesses have agreed to recount their struggle to rebuild themselves, and the difficulties encountered along the way. All come back to the events of that day when their life changed, the way they experienced the trial of Anders Behring Breivik, and how this precise moment of their existence continues to live in them despite the passing years. “No one should die for their political ideas”, underlines one of them in conclusion.

The documentary “The killing of Utoya, the survivors tell their story”, will be broadcast at 9 p.m. on the Planète+CI channel, and will be available in streaming on myCANAL.
