The vaccination pass is the basis of the easing of restrictions announced by Jean Castex this Thursday evening January 20. But its implementation will still have to comply with the decision that the Constitutional Council will make on Friday.
Two appeals were brought before the “Wise Men” by the parliamentarians. Both are mainly aimed at identity checks by restaurateurs and cafeteria owners. After much hesitation, the text indeed allows professionals in the event of “serious doubt” to verify the identity of a holder of the pass.
Several appeals
The first appeal, presented in particular by LFI deputies opposed to the pass, as well as UDI and socialist deputies, also targets its application to minors, or the obligation to present it in interregional transport. The second, carried by the socialist senators, aims to “improve its supervision”.
During the implementation of the health pass, the Constitutional Council had censured the compulsory isolation of positive people as well as the early termination of a fixed-term contract for non-pass holders.
The Senate for its part launched this Thursday a commission of inquiry to examine “the adequacy of the vaccination pass to the evolution of the epidemic”.
