Made official for the first time in 2017, Tesla’s Semi electric truck is (finally!) preparing its arrival on the roads.
This first zero-emission truck that we have been waiting for a long time should finally arrive next December, according to Elon Musk.
Good things come to those who wait for
After opening the floodgates (in just a few markets) to orders for its electric truck, Tesla is today confirming through Elon Musk on Twitter the first deliveries of its Semi. So it’s the 1er next December that the first copy will be delivered, more than 5 years after the initial presentation.
Recall that originally, the production of the Semi was to start at the end of 2019, but the latter was finally postponed on several occasions. However, it is now certain, the zero-emission truck is indeed arriving on the roads, and it is a certain Pepsi which will be the first to have its favors.
A hundred Semis at Pepsi
Indeed, Elon Musk has confirmed that the first copies of the Tesla Semi will be delivered to the American company Pepsi. The eternal rival of Coca-Cola had ordered, in 2017, a hundred electric trucks, and it will therefore be the first served.
Obviously, the Tesla Semi is also of interest to other major companies, namely Anheuser-Busch, Walmart as well as the famous carrier UPS.
On the autonomy side, the truck should keep its promise, with the possibility of carrying out more than 800 kilometers on a single charge. Elon Musk also promises a very pleasant driving experience, not to mention a fast recharge which will recover around 70% of the battery in just half an hour. Added to this is enough power to maintain a constant pace on the highway, including on ” steep slopes “.
No doubt Tesla should celebrate the launch of this Semi electric truck on the 1er next December. To see now when (and if) the latter will arrive in France.
