Aurore Bergé was the guest of Europe 1 this morning. At the microphone of Lionel Gougelot, the president of the Renaissance group in the National Assembly explained that she did not wish to negotiate either with the far right represented by the RN or with the far left and the Insoumis. She believes that the latter serve the interests of the National Rally by behaving vindictively in the hemicycle.
Aurore Bergé denounces the attitude of the Insoumis within the hemicycle. The president of the Renaissance group in the National Assembly regrets that the deputies of the formation of Jean-Luc Mélenchon are always in “invective” and behave in a “vindictive” way. According to her, their posture serves the interests of RN deputies who, next to them, appear to be “reasonable”.
“The deputies of the RN have not become reasonable”
“What is certain is that there is also an attitude in the hemicycle and that unfortunately, this systematically vindictive attitude of obstruction, of invective, this attitude also which is not worthy of our debates and of our institution on the part of LFI, also serves the National Rally considerably”, declared Aurore Bergé this Friday morning on Europe 1. “Because on the other side, it is enough that they present well, as my grandmother, that they put on a tie to appear as reasonable people”. However, for the president of the Renaissance group, the deputies of the National Rally have not “become reasonable” because they wear a suit and tie.
No compromise with the RN and the Insoumis
“They carry the same ideas, the same values,” she says. “And the real fight, it is on the fight of ideas, precisely”. And Aurore Bergé will not compromise either with the RN or with the Insoumis, whose values are “very far” from those of Renaissance. “I do not compromise myself. And I do not negotiate with those, at the RN, who still consider that abortion is a ‘mass genocide’. And still at the RN, those who take up elements of Kremlin language on the question sanctions against Russia after the invasion of Ukraine”, she explains on Europe 1. “On the rebellious side, they prefer to hang out with Jeremy Corbyn, who was expelled for anti-Semitism, or pose an unworthy resolution on the State of Israel by referring to Israeli Jews as a ‘racial group'”.
