The violet cart – the chaos at Vienna Austria continues!

The “chatterboxes” at Austria are once again in high season, the chaos at Violett continues! At the Tuesday meeting of the AG supervisory board, which was about the future of board member Markus Kraetschmer (contract ends on June 30), there was no official announcement from the association, only behind the scenes internal matters were eagerly communicated to the outside.

What is known, what is not yet known:

  • After a long, intense, sometimes very heated debate, the Kraetschmer opponents prevailed, the board, with the club since 1997, will probably have to leave Austria. The economic difficulties and the associated license refused in the first instance as well as the Insignia debacle were his undoing. President Frank Hensel wants to share this with the 49-year-old today – why not right away?
  • Open who follows Kraetschmer. Gerhard Krisch was installed as the second member of the board at the beginning of May, because it was of the opinion that one person alone could not cope with the large area of responsibility, so Krisch will have another board colleague.
  • Josef Pröll will resign from his functions as Vice President and AG Supervisory Board, other members of the Supervisory Board also want to quit, and there are also plans to resign from the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees.
  • The personal details of the sports director and coach are still unclear. The supervisory board believes it has the athletic competence to wait and see whether the decision-makers step in front of the curtain.

Krisch and his new colleague now have to pull the violet cart out of the mud – an almost impossible task without the help of the man who helped build this construct. But the purple grandees want it that way …
