Vivo announces the deployment of Funtouch OS 13, its overlay based on Android 13. It will initially only be available on the Vivo X80 Pro, but other models will be able to benefit from it in the coming months.
While Samsung released One UI 5.0 on its Galaxy S22, it’s Vivo’s turn to deploy its Android 13 overlay with Funtouch OS 13. At the moment, only the X80 Pro model can download the update, but the manufacturer specifies that the deployment on other models will be progressive.
Vivo told us that this deployment will start in France in November, for the X80 Pro only initially.
What does Funtouch OS 13 bring?
Overall, Android 13 brings design updates and improved privacy and security features. On the side of the Vivo interface, we find the Monet function which goes even further, with the possibility of changing the colors of the buttons and the interface according to those of the wallpaper. It works with native apps, like calculator, clock, settings, etc.
Funtouch OS 13 brings iManager, an application manager that can monitor screen time, monitor overheating, but also CPU usage. You can then choose to close this or that application. Vivo has worked on accessibility, with improvements on color correction and inversion, but also added an option to remove animations, which is useful for some users with visual impairments.
In terms of widgets, those relating to the weather can now integrate a map with air quality. On the photo part, Vivo announced “new photo and video enhancements“, in particular on the stabilization, to attenuate the effects of the shaking hands. Funtouch OS 13 also comes with a video editing module, “allowing users to mute the video while editing the footage and even make fine volume adjustments to each segment of the video“.
