In recent years, Florent Pagny has become a legendary coach of The Voice. While his wise advice allowed four of his talents to win the show, many fans are wondering if he will be present during the live broadcasts. And for good reason, on January 25, the singer announced that he had lung cancer. In a video shared on Instagram, he had indeed revealed: “I have just been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in the lung, which cannot be operated on. I have to enter a six-month protocol of chemotherapy and x-rays.” Invited in the 20 hours newspaper of TF1, the famous coach agreed to discuss his future in The Voice. Not wanting to get too far ahead, he said: “In May, I don’t know… I still have six months of chemo so I don’t know how I’ll end up.“
Optimistic, Florent Pagny confided: “For the moment, the premiere is going well, but anything can happen too. Maybe in May, I’m impeccable, maybe I’m tired and then we’ll get organized.“A few days earlier, it was on Instagram that he had revealed to his fans that his presence in The Voice was not in question.You will still see me on the red armchair of The Voice in great shape, since we recorded everything before“, he had indicated. For its part, the production of the program presented by Nikos Aliagas had revealed in the columns of Tele-Leisure : “With TF1, our priority is Florent’s health. The entire The Voice family is by his side in this ordeal. For filming, we will organize ourselves with him and communicate at the appropriate time.“
Florent Pagny: “I only have one tumor, I have no metastasis”
Faced with Gilles Bouleau, the artist spoke at length about his state of health. “Just need to clarify that ok, I have a problem which is the wrong box at first, but all the others are pretty good. It should be noted that this is something that I discovered very early. I’m only at degree 1 so it’s something I’ve had for between three and six months, it’s very young. I only have one tumor, I have no metastasis, I have nothing in other organs so this is a very good news second“, he revealed. Finally, Florent Pagny added: “Suddenly, faced with this kind of situation, you say to yourself, we’re going to stop the concerts, finish the recordings of The Voice, honor certain commitments because I can sing and then take care of myself.but healthily, not with something that brings you down.“
