The Voice, comeback: why without Camille Lellouche the show would not have existed

From this Sunday, February 11, fans of The Voice will be able to discover the “comeback” version of the program, in which Camille Lellouche offers a second chance to talents who were not chosen by the coaches. A show which saw the light of day thanks to the agreement of Camille Lellouche. Explanations.

It’s the great return of The Voice. Eight months after Aurélien Vivos’ victory, the TF1 talent show returns to the air this Saturday, February 10 for its 13th season. Zazie, Bigflo and Oli as well as Vianney agreed to come back… alongside Mika, who had not taken on the role of coach since season 8 (excluding All-Stars). But now, in the shadow of this competition, another competition will take place on TF1+. It is The Voice, comebackof which Camille Lellouche is the headliner. The principle is simple: over the entire season, it will be able save eight talents – six during the blind auditions and two during the cross-battles – who were not chosen by the coaches of The Voice.

Placed backstage, the singer and comedian will attend all the blind auditions in real time and will react to the coaches’ decisions. Above all, she will be able to intervene on set or in the family room to draft a talent that no coach has looked back on. A principle that fans of the show presented by Nikos Aliagas already know. Nolwenn Leroy had a similar mission in season 11. Except that, this time, Camille Lellouche goes further. Its role is much more important. The talents she has decided to save will compete in battles and the winner will have the chance to join her former comrades during the final of The Voice. It is therefore up to Camille Lellouche to make the right choice so that her foal wins this 13th edition.

Matthieu Grelier: “Without Camille Lellouche, we probably would not have made The Voice, comeback”

For this, the young mother plans to put all its expertise to benefit. “My job and my duty as a coach is to reassure them, to comfort them. I will be a generous and loving coach but also a little harsh, all the same“, she explains. And admits: “I really have absolute empathy. I know what they are going through. For some, it’s truly vital to be here, even visceral.“Camille Lellouche speaks with full knowledge of the facts. Nearly ten years ago, in 2015, she herself participated in the 4th edition of The Voice. If the adventure had started well, with three coaches returned, she escaped elimination several times. She had joined Mika’s team, before Florent Pagny drafted her during the Ultimate Event. And twice, he then saved her at the end of the lives, taking her to the semi-final where she failed to win against Anne Sila. All this to say that Camille Lellouche knows the importance of second chances.

This is also one of the reasons that pushed the production to call on her to host The Voice, comeback. “We immediately thought of Camille“, immediately tells us Matthieu Grelier, the producer of the show. And adds: “Honestly, it happened because she said yes. If that hadn’t been the case, we probably wouldn’t have done it.“Besides the fact that she”comes from this show and therefore knows the mechanics perfectly” and her occasional roles as co-coach, the production saw in Camille Lellouche the ideal person for this comeback because of her multiple hats: actress, coach, author-composer, holder of a Victoire de la Musique and whose hits are often reinterpreted during castings of The Voice. “There is an adhesion to his universe. And then, she is energetic and friendly. We love him very much“, enthuses Matthieu Grelier.

Matthieu Notebaert, ITV’s communications director, insisted: “He’s someone we enjoy working with. She is generous, she has a unique sensitivity. She has a lot of qualities for this role..“And with a large community on social networks – she is followed by nearly three million people on Instagram – is also an asset for this program which will be broadcast on digital. After a first issue – available on TF1+ from February 4 – in which Camille Lellouche looks back on her journey and explains the concept of her format, she will give the kick-off at his The Voice, comeback from this Sunday February 11.
