You won your battle against Auna, favorite of the show. Did you expect this?
No way ! For me, it was totally done because Auna is a great singer, a great performer. I found myself facing someone very strong.
What do you think made the difference?
Honestly, I couldn’t say. Zazie had a really hard time deciding between us, she took at least five minutes to make her decision. All I know is that I worked a lot.
How did you experience this battle? Like a duo or a fight?
Both ! It was a very beautiful duet even if Zazie told us to sing the title each on our own. We both put ourselves in a role.
Were you stressed?
Super stressed! I shook like I’ve never shaken before. I was destabilized before going on stage, I cried a lot. I was very scared. I knew that Auna had prepared very well and for my part, I was not at all sure of myself. Finally, the work pays off!
What advice did Zazie give you during coaching?
She told me to come out of my lover side for this song, to focus on what I was saying, to feel every word.
The Voicewas that your dream?
Yes, I always watched The Voice. Every year, I said to myself: “Ah, I wish that was me.” I imagined myself on stage and in the end this year was mine! I was spotted on social networks by the production.
You are a caregiver in a nursing home, which has absolutely nothing to do with music. Where does this passion come from?
It comes from my parents. They always sang songs to me, especially Johnny. My brother rapped. Music was omnipresent in our family.
When did you know you wanted to make this your career?
Very recently, when I had this opportunity with The Voice. Before I combined this passion with my job by singing for elderly characters.
Have you put your job as a caregiver on hold since the start of The Voice ?
No ! I work nights now. I manage to combine the two even if it is sometimes complicated and I arrive very tired at rehearsals.
Do you like cross-battles?
We have all created very strong bonds so it will be difficult to be eliminated or to see certain talents leave.
