The Voice Kids 2022: how coaches console non-selected children

From this Saturday, August 20, The Voice Kids will return to TF1 for its eighth edition. Over the blind auditions, children will not have the chance to be selected. The coaches explain to us how they make up for their disappointment.

After two years of absence – due to The Voice All Stars -, the Kids version of the TF1 tele-hook is making a comeback from this Saturday, August 20. For this, the production has reserved some surprises for the faithful of the show. Starting with the return of Karine Ferri alongside Nikos Aliagas in the Family room. Above all, there is a change in the coaches. Exit Jenifer and Soprano. Patrick Fiori and Kendji Girac are now surrounded by Louane Emera and Julien Doré. Two new kids who were quickly faced with the disappointment of some budding singers. During the blind auditions, the coaches were indeed forced to make a choice. Impossible to look back on all the young candidates who made the trip.

Nevertheless, Julien Doré – who nevertheless had some fears in taking on this role of coach – did not experience this part of the program badly, imagining that this exercise is “much easier for us in The Voice Kids than in The Adult Voice where the expectations of the candidates are much greater. They just want to have fun“Children indeed have their whole lives ahead of them to make their passion their profession, if that is what they wish afterwards.”They don’t risk their lives“, recalls Julien Doré. And to admit: “It was actually very easy when we had to explain to them why we hadn’t turned around becausethey took our words as real advice. It actually empowered us.

How The Voice Kids coaches turn disappointment into a unique moment

Besides, “no kid came off stage in tears“, specifies Nikos Aliagas. It must be said that the coaches instantly manage to overcome the disappointment of the non-selected children giving them an experience they will remember for a lifetime. “When we didn’t look back, we all tried to leave a memory, which meant that it allowed them to get over the disappointment right away. Through humor, advice, lots of moments, or things also promised for the future“, list Julien Doré, while Patrick Fiori details: “I invite them on concert dates. I’ll give them a call later… There is a follow-up behind which we do not advertise“. Finally, the young children leave with memories in their heads and stars in their eyes.
