With these words, the family of Grace Mertens († 16) has to convey the painful news of the death of their daughter. On Thursday (October 22nd) the former "The Voice Kids" candidate succumbed to the consequences of a brain tumor.

Grace Mertens already knew about the brain tumor when she participated in the TV show. In the years that followed, her condition worsened dramatically until the doctors were unable to help the teenager. You yourself write the message that hinted at her coming death. "My tumor is growing inexorably and the doctors cannot do anything to stop it. I wish I didn't have to tell you this and I wish it wasn't true," said Grace Mertens in late September.

When the shocking diagnosis reaches the 16-year-old, she begins to prepare her own funeral. She asked for videos from family and friends to be shown at the funeral service. Videos describing them as people and depicting the happy moments in their lives.
