The British world star James Blunt surprised “The Voice of Germany” coaches with his blind audition on Sunday. That’s how they react.

Surprise at “The Voice of Germany”! In the next episode on Sunday (November 7th) the British world star James Blunt (47) will appear. “I am the artist formally known as James Blunt. And I am looking for a gig”, announces the superstar in his blind audition, which in German means something like: “I am the artist who was previously known as James Blunt . And I’m looking for a gig. ” Like so many other musicians, Blunt did not have any live performances during the corona pandemic.

This is how the coaches react

As the broadcasters Sat.1 and ProSieben reported in advance, the surprise guest caused enthusiasm among coaches Sarah Connor (41), Johannes Oerding (39), Nico Santos (28) and Mark Forster (38). And it shouldn’t be long before they recognize him. “After the first second I knew who was singing behind me and I was incredibly touched,” Santos is quoted as saying. A little later, Connor also clearly assigned the distinctive voice: “As always, it took me a few seconds longer than the other coaches, but then I recognized James Blunt. He sang great.”

Pop singer and songwriter Johannes Oerding has even been on stage with James Blunt. He is enthusiastic about the British singer’s “TVOG” performance: “James Blunt was an absolute highlight for me. I am a fan and I knew that it could only be him. This synergy between his piano playing, his singing and the pain in it.” And he adds: “We musicians haven’t played live for a long time and this pain was really audible.” Forster could also feel the said pain: “I noticed that it was a special moment for him too. That he really enjoyed being on stage again after such a long time in which he was unable to go on tour . I had the feeling he was moved to tears himself because it was so moving for him. “

More talents in the blind auditions

Besides James Blunt, these talents will sing in the last edition of the Blind Auditions of “The Voice of Germany”: Anna, Lisa & David (28, 23, 29, Leverkusen), Faraz (39, Bonn), Anika (35, Berlin), Ron (46, Bad Breisig), Andreas (29, Obrigheim), Helin (25, Cologne), Jakob (26, Berlin), Charline (29, Hildesheim), Lukas (35, A-Vienna), Milijana (26, Wiesbaden ) and Babsi (45, A-Vienna).
