The Voice: the sad fate of a candidate drafted then eliminated because of Mika

The rules of The Voice can be very cruel. Ambre Ever, a candidate on the show, had the sad experience of this on Saturday evening during the second round of the battles. The 16-year-old high school student initially benefited from the “stolen talent” rule.

Ambre Ever eliminated by her coach Zazie

When a talent loses a battle, he can be saved by another coach from The Voice. After being eliminated by Zazie following her battle against Alphonse, Ambre Ever was “stolen” by Mika, who did not want to let her go. “You totally deserve another chance to stay in it,” the singer told him. The teenager, relieved to continue the adventure, found herself on hold. She attended, not without a touch of stress, the other battles from a chair from which she knew she could be ejected at any time if Mika wanted to save a talent from another team. Alas, the disaster scenario did indeed occur… A week after being drafted by Mika, Ambre Ever was ousted by her savior.

“Do not lose hope”

At the end of the evening, his new coach let himself be carried away by the impeccable recovery of Somewhere Only We Know of Keane by Clément and Morpho, two candidates from Zazie’s team. The latter, forced to make a choice between the two singers, finally selected Morpho (whose interview you can find just now here).

While Clément explained why his performance had started very badly, Mika, under the spell, buzzed to get him back on his team. Stroke of luck for Clément, coup de grace for Ambre Ever who had to give him his place in the waiver chair, and therefore definitively leave the adventure. The teenager burst into tears when she heard the buzzer sound… “It’s the game, it’s like that, it hurts,” commented Nikos Aliagas, visibly saddened for the young girl. Mika went up to the stands to comfort the extremely sensitive teenager. “Don’t lose hope. If you like singing, there’s no one who’s going to stop you,” he said, taking her in his arms. A small consolation after this cruel eviction…
