The Swiss act for the ESC 2023 has been decided: Remo Forrer will sing for us in Liverpool in May. It will be announced on March 7th which song the 21-year-old “The Voice of Switzerland” winner will play. Five things you need to know about the Swiss Act.
The 21-year-old Toggenburg Remo Forrer represents Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. “For me, the ESC is one of the greatest things you can do,” says the musician from Hemberg SG, “it has always been a dream and I’m super happy that it’s now coming true”.
“Out Loud” is Remo’s current single, his ESC song comes out on March 7th.
1. That’s why he’s the right one
“I can deliver under pressure and I like doing that,” says Remo about himself. He already has at “The Voice of Switzerland”. allowed: In 2020 he won the third season of the talent show. Last year he also decided the RTL format “Show us your voice!” for himself and has had many German fans since then – that’s quite interesting for ESC televoting.

2. How he outsmarts stage fright
A full Liverpool Arena and over 160 million TV and online viewers – it’s not easy to endure. During his numerous television appearances, the singer has developed a strategy against stage fright: “I imagine that the cameras aren’t there at all. And if I don’t worry too much about that, it’s going best.”
3. He’s scared of that
“It would be very embarrassing if I forgot the lyrics to my own song,” says the musician, who plays piano, guitar and accordion, with a laugh. And further: If you sing lyrics over and over again, you feel so safe that you no longer concentrate fully on the words during the performance and then experience a breakdown. “But I don’t expect that to happen.”
4. This is how his song sounds
The song Remo Forrer will start with in England will be revealed on March 7th. The 21-year-old can already reveal this much: “The song means a lot to me. It definitely has catchy tunes and has been following me for months. And it demands everything from my voice, it goes from very low to very high.” He will sing it live for the first time on the ESC stage on Tuesday, May 9th, in the first semi-final – and then hopefully again on Saturday, May 13th, in the grand finale.

5. This is a must-have when you go to Liverpool
No important event without Remo’s lucky charm, which the St. Gallen native also packs in his suitcase for the ESC 2023: Häsi. “It’s a cuddly toy that my godfather gave me when I was born. It used to be fairly big, but it’s just a small bunch now.” Advantage: it takes up less space in your luggage.
The 67th Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Liverpool. Britain is stepping in as host country for Ukraine, who won the 2022 competition with the Kalush Orchestra but are unable to host the event for security reasons.

Musicians were invited to submit their songs for Swiss participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. A 20-strong international expert jury and a 100-strong spectator panel determined the Swiss entry.
The viewer panel is intended to simulate the televoting results of the nearly 40 participating countries as best as possible. Both juries evaluated the entries and the artists in a multi-stage process. As in the ESC final, the votes counted for 50 percent each.
