In The Walking Dead: Dead City, former nemesis Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) roam New York City to find Maggie’s kidnapped son, Hershel (Kien Michael Spiller). They made peace at the end of “The Walking Dead” – at least that’s what we thought. But newly leaked videos from the set of the “TWD” spin-off show that the two haven’t laid down their guns after all.
As the videos from Twitter show, Maggie and Negan are engaged in what appears to be a deadly fight. Maggie stabs Negan in the shoulder with her dagger, after which he pushes his companion down somewhere (maybe one in a pack of walkers?). It seems as if the peace pact between the two has been declared void again.
It was inevitable that Maggie and Negan would never be friends. That’s why the announced spin-off of the two mortal enemies came as more than a surprise. I guess we all assumed they slowly became closer after their clarifying conversation in the final season of The Walking Dead. But Maggie will probably never forgive Negan for Glenn’s death.
Unfortunately, the video does not show how the fight between the two came about. However, Maggie’s gratitude that Negan saved her son before seems to have been completely forgotten.
The Walking Dead: Dead City premieres on AMC in June 2023. When and if the series will come to Germany is not yet known.
