“The Walking Dead” is about survival in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies over 11 seasons. The captivating plot, deep characters and constant threat have delighted viewers for years. It’s about more than just survival – it’s about humanity, morality and the darkness within us all.

The finale of The Walking Dead Season 11 was shown on November 20, 2022 by the US broadcaster AMC. Now viewers are wondering whether there will be a season 12 or whether they will have to say goodbye to the beloved characters forever.

The Walking Dead: There will be no season 12

We’ll tell you straight away: After season 11, “The Walking Dead” will be over. There will no longer be a 12th season.

There is also a little consolation: The Walking Dead universe is being expanded to include a few releases. The TWD universe now includes an impressive six spin-off series, but not all of them have appeared yet. The planned cinema films have now been canceled and converted into a series.

Daryl fights against zombies in his own show “The Walking Dead – Daryl Dixon”, which even takes him to Europe. Maggie and Negan fight their way through New York in “The Walking Dead: Dead City” and even Rick Grimes and Michonne get their own miniseries! So a lot of the fan favorites survive and we find out their fate in new series.

So you can see: Even though the mother series is saying goodbye, there is still a lot of new stuff waiting for you from the ever-growing TWD universe.
