It was last April, during the Meta Quest Gaming Showcasethat Skydance Interactive announced the development of The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution. If the release date was still uncertain at the time, it has just been specified during the Meta Connect 2022. And it’s coming soon!
This opus is the direct sequel to the previous one and the studio seems to have evolved the gameplay in order to make life even harder for the tourists that we embody there. This survival game, and here it’s not just a word to do well, will therefore still keep us in suspense for many hours before we can see the end. In the program, new challenges, enemies and location (the French Quarter), challenges and even games playable at night which, in the first chapter, was the haven of peace and rest.
“Fight, sneak, and fight your way through a city that has already been chosen countless times. Resources will be scarce, but you’ll need to use what you can to fend off not only the ubiquitous walkers, but also the invincible Axman stalking you. That’s why our game is called Retribution,” says Mark Domowicz, Game Director on Chapter 2: Retribution at Skydance Interactive. “As you may have guessed, you will have to use your brain to figure out how to deal with this new level of threat. He’s actually a great example of how our gameplay has evolved for Chapter 2. The level of challenge throughout the game has increased both in scale and variety, and we can’t wait to see how our tourists are going to manage what we launch”.
“We’ve always wanted to explore the French Quarter, as it’s such an iconic part of New Orleans. We love this new location both for its quaint look, but also for its complex, more urban setting. This allows us to create new environmental challenges for the player and give tourists more options on how to handle a given scenario. The consequences of the tourist’s actions in the first game have affected and reshaped much of the city, and between exploring the night and discovering more parts of this dangerous city, we think players will have plenty to chew on. . »
