In the finale of “The Walking Dead,” crossbow lover Daryl Dixon rode off on his motorcycle to go in search of his friend Rick. The down-to-earth Daryl could never have imagined that he would suddenly end up in France.
The viewers of the upcoming TWD spin-off will also be left in the dark for the time being. In the now published official series description from AMC, it is only revealed that Daryl is of course trying to find his way back home.
Washed up in France, Daryl struggles to figure out how he got there and why. The series follows his journey through a fractured but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. However, the connections he makes on his journey complicate his ultimate plan.

At the end of the series, maybe Daryl doesn’t want to go home at all? Or will he be sabotaged by his new acquaintances?
In an interview with the US magazine Comicbook, Daryl actor Norman Reedus also revealed: “The tone is very different, the [Kinematografie ist] completely different. The lighting is different. We are in castles and the plot has a religious twist. Part of the story is that I’m surrounded by French speaking people. I’m trying to figure out, ‘Is this going to be a fight?’
The fact that Daryl, who grew up in a very rural area, now has to get by in a foreign country and speak a foreign language will certainly trigger a culture shock for him. Surely his lack of language talent will cause numerous dangerous misunderstandings.
Five new cast members were recently confirmed for the Daryl spin-off. It was previously announced that Clémence Poésy (Fleur Delacour from “Harry Potter”) and Adam Nagaitis (“Chernobyl”) will star alongside Reedus.
A start date has not yet been announced, but the series is expected to appear later this year. It is not yet clear where the series will be broadcast in Germany. With a trick you can easily see all AMC + content in Germany.
