The Watcher on Netflix: the other Ryan Murphy series that dethrones Dahmer

Ryan Murphy reigns supreme on Netflix. After the immense success of his “Dahmer” series, the famous creator dethrones himself with his new project, “The Watcher”.

Ryan Murphy cultivates his taste for strange and terrifying stories and it proves its worth on the Netflix planet. After having monopolized the top of the ranking for three consecutive weeks, with Dahmer, the prolific creator continues to shine with The Watcher.

This 7-episode mini-series, created and written with Ian Brennan, chronicles the ordeal of the Brannock family who move into a dream house at 657 Boulevard, Westfield, New Jersey. A few days after their arrival, mysterious anonymous letters, signed “The Watcher”, come to break their peace.

If Dahmer and The Watcher are very different in tone as in form, the projects are both inspired by real events. Their success confirms the public’s appetite for true crimes – real crime stories in French.
