This Monday, the rains persist in the south-east of France. Elsewhere, the trend is calm, but the clouds remain numerous over a large southern half.
After a weekend marked by heavy rainfall, mainly in the south of France where several departments remained on alert until Sunday evening, the weather on Monday tends to improve in the country, according to The Weather Channel*. However, the south-east of France remains in the rain for part of the day, particularly the Hérault which remains on orange precipitation alert. The temperatures remain high and continue to climb compared to this weekend, where they were already particularly mild: around 10 to 15 degrees everywhere in France, and peaks at 16 (Marseille) and even 17 degrees (Ajaccio ).
Until Sunday evening, an intense Cevennes episode, quite remarkable for this time of year, continues in the south of France. After several months of drought in Languedoc Roussillon, a sharp deterioration set in on Friday evening and continued this weekend in connection with the digging of a depression in the Balearic region. In a dynamic east to southeast flow, heavy rains are in place between the Montagne Noire, the Espinouse (Monts de Lacaune) and the Cévennes. It also rains heavily on the plains of Languedoc-Roussillon but the amounts of rain are much lower than on the reliefs. Note that the snow falls from 1000 to 1200 meters on the relief, which can cause traffic difficulties in mountainous areas (Cévennes, Aubrac, Vivarais).

Monday morning, only the north-west of France is truly spared by the rain, even if the weather is becoming drier and drier. In the afternoon the rains go up towards the center of the country and the sun remains in Brittany and in the Hauts-de-France. In the evening, light to moderate rains flowed from the southern regions towards the Loire Valley and Burgundy. Dry weather persists over a northern third of the country.
During the day Tuesday gray and humid weather will cover the northern and northeastern regions with light rain. Elsewhere, we will find drier weather with some clearings. The weather will remain unstable over the Gulf of Lion with rain or showers, before clearing and becoming more pleasant over most of the country.
