After the explosive finale of season 2 of The White Lotus, its creator Mike White is already teasing its third burst of episodes.
This is one of the sensations of this end of the year: season 2 of The White Lotus was a hit with fans of Mike White’s series. After the success of the inaugural season, rewarded with 10 Emmy Awards, aficionados awaited the new episodes at the turn and they were not disappointed.
Worn by Jennifer Coolidge, Aubrey Plaza, (Parks and Recreation), F. Murray Abraham (Homeland), Theo James (Divergent, The Time Traveler’s Wife), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type), Haley Lu Richardson (Two meters from you, After Yang) or the Frenchman Bruno Gouery (Emily in Paris), this season 2 of The White Lotus was as explosive as the first.
After Hawaii, the audience of the series was able to follow the chaotic adventures of new rich vacationers in a resort in Sicily. And these new adventures conquered the public but also the critics since the second season collected 4 nominations at the next Golden Globes.
The creator teases season 3 of The White Lotus
And good news, The White Lotus adventure does not stop there since a season 3 is already in preparation. If no information has yet been revealed on these new episodes ordered, Mike White has still teased some clues about what can await us.
In an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip of the series published by HBO, the creator of the series indeed explained what season 3 of The White Lotus could hold for us, in particular on the themes and the destination, which could well be Asia. :
“The first season focused on money, and the second season on sex. I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and fun look at death but also Eastern religion and spirituality.”

As with the other seasons, a whole new cast will appear. For the moment, no name has circulated but we should expect a distribution as delicious as those of previous seasons.
As for Jennifer Coolidge, the only actress present in both seasons, we are not likely to see her again in the third season, now knowing the disastrous fate of her character Tanya. Mike White had planned this trajectory for this heroine, but the public is not immune to a twist:
“Jennifer is my friend and everyone loved her in the first season, and I was like, ‘I can’t go to Italy without Jennifer.’ And maybe that’s still the case. Maybe I can’t go to Japan without Jennifer either.”
Can we expect a return of Tanya in season 3? Or a return of Jennifer Coolidge as Tanya’s twin sister or in the skin of a new character? We will have to wait before having more information on the next season of The White Lotus.
