The wind of inflation swells the sails of the Leboncoin site


Competition from specialized pure players does not frighten the website for classified ads between individuals. Its activity even continues to increase.

Despite growing competition, Leboncoin still sits among the kings of second-hand products. In the first quarter of 2022, the personal classifieds website remained the second most visited e-commerce site in France (6.8 million unique visitors per day) behind Amazon but ahead of Vinted.

While online sales have declined since January in France after an exceptional 2021 vintage, Boncoin activity continues to increase. The number of classified ads corresponding to the sale of products between consumers (excluding cars and real estate) increased by 16% over the first three months of 2022. In the past two years, this number has more than doubled, to 55 million.
