It is during the month of December that we will be able to download and discover the next-gen update, intended for the PS5, Xbox Series and PC, of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Highly anticipated by fans, it will bring many improvements and some new content. Incidentally, CD Projekt Red recently shared information about it.

During a REDstream, broadcast on Wednesday, November 23, the development team has, indeed, detailed the content of the next-gen update of The Witcher 3. First of all, note that this patch will, of course, bring , visual improvements : Ray Tracing, improved Screen Space Reflection, improved foliage and better textures will be there. The title will then support FSR 2.1 and DLSS3. On PS5 and Xbox Series, players will be able to choose between Performance mode (prioritizing framerate) and Quality mode (better visuals).
In addition, the developers have planned some changes : we will be able, in particular, to take advantage of a “alternate camera” which should bring us closer to the action (option to enable/disable). It will also be possible toapply filters on the map and opt for “dynamic masking of the mini-map” in order to have a reduced interface, thus promoting immersion. CD Projekt RED took the opportunity to fix multiple quests, including “From the Distant Shores of Ophir” and “Treasure Hunt: Equipment of the School of the Wolf”. But that’s not all.
As expected, next-gen update will add new content to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt : a new quest as well as alternative looks for Jaskier and the Nilfguardian soldiers, in connection with the Netflix series. Without forgetting, Photo mode. During the livestream, we could see new armors for Geralt (in particular the one worn by Henry Cavill in Season 1), but CD Projekt RED did not say anything about it and certainly has surprises in store. The patch notes, which will be released before the update is released, will tell us more.
Finally, know that this update will introduce cross-save. Because of this, we will be able to import our last save and resume our progress. On the official website, we can read the following mention: […] play the game how you want, where you want and transfer your last save from one platform to another […] “.

The physical editions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition do not yet have a release date, but we will let you know as soon as they do.
