The Witcher 4: hundreds of developers on the Polaris project

With the launch of the extension Phantom Liberty, CD Project has finally turned the page Cyberpunk 2077. The Polish studio can now focus on other projects, it is pulling out all the stops on Polarisfirst part of a new trilogy The Witcherexpected on a date still unknown.

Even if the game is completely mysterious for the moment, CD Project has big ambitions. In its latest financial report, the studio reveals that 403 people are currently working on Polaris/The Witcher 4, still in pre-production, out of a total of 627 developers. Interestingly enough, in addition to the people in charge of various internal departments, the second biggest team is that ofOrionthe sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, in the concept phase with 47 developerswhile the project SiriusA spin off of The Witcher developped by The Molasses Floodonly has 37 developers in pre-production at the moment. Hadarthe new franchise of CD Project, currently has around twenty developers, in the licensing concept phase. Finally, other employees are working on various projects, including Fool’s Theory on the remake of The Witcherin the concept phase.

All this to say that the Polish studio is betting everything on The Witcher 4 for the moment, the 403 developers will quietly finish the work before lending a hand to the other teams after the release, scheduled for an as yet unknown date.
