“The Witcher” will have at least two seasons without Henry Cavill.

The future of the Netflix series “The Witcher” is apparently secured: a fifth season with Liam Hemsworth is also coming.
After Henry Cavills, 40, left “The Witcher”, there is already unexpected news for fans of the fantasy series. There will also be a fifth season of the series, as Sophie Holland, the Netflix show’s casting director, confirmed in an interview with the industry website “Deadline”..
In the fourth, Liam Hemsworth, 33, takes over from Cavill as the new leading man. “We’re very close to filming season four with Liam Hemsworth. After a short hiatus we’ll go straight into production on season five,” reveals Holland.
“Too many stories to tell”
It was initially not clear whether “The Witcher” would continue at all after superstar Cavill left. “We had the choice to end the show after Geralt’s departure,” explained showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich, 44, a few days ago in conversation with “Total Film”. However, according to Hissrich, the Netflix production was not ready for this because there were “simply too many stories to tell”.
Now the streaming service Netflix and the series makers will apparently not even wait for the reaction of the audience to the first season with the new leading actor Hemsworth, but will produce another edition of the show before the release of season four – a sign of the great trust that the Put those responsible for the series in their new star and witcher actor.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing what Liam brings,” reveals casting director Holland. According to her, the actor known from the “Hunger Games” film series has “a large fan base”. The witcher series’ fourth season, which has already been officially confirmed, is said to offer viewers and fans “a nice mix of new characters and returning faces”.
Season three of “The Witcher” will be released in two parts
First of all, series fans can look forward to the third season of “The Witcher” with Henry Cavill. The final installment of the series, starring the previous lead actor as Geralt of Rivia, will be released in two parts on Netflix. The first five episodes will be released on June 29th. The season finale, consisting of three episodes, can then be viewed by subscribers to the streaming service from July 27th.
