- “The Witcher” season 2 starts on December 17, 2021 on the streaming service Netflix.
- The scripts for season 3 may already exist.
- So the waiting time for season 3 could be shorter.
After two years of waiting, fans of the fantasy series “The Witcher” are looking forward to more. On December 17, 2021, streaming giant Netflix will finally show new episodes of the novel adaptation. A series star still reveals before the start of the new episodes that you may not have to wait so long until season 3.
The plot of the second season is primarily based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel “The Legacy of the Elves”. But how far Geralt and Ciri’s journey could go in the new episodes is still a secret.
A third season of the series was already ordered from Netflix at the end of 2019, which proves the trust the streaming service has in the skills of showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich (including “The Umbrella Academy”) and the franchise. Now Ciri actress Freya Allan has revealed in an interview with RadioTimes that she has already seen scripts for season 3 and that they are “very exciting”.
I may even have seen one or the other script. Just to have mentioned it once. I do not know exactly [wann die Arbeiten an der Serie aufgenommen werden]but it won’t be long now. It’s very exciting. I think it’s going to be a great season.

So there are no details about the shooting of season 3 yet, but you can assume that I won’t have to wait another two years. Should COVID-19 requirements not delay production again, Season 3 could even be expected to start at the end of 2022.
Until then, Netflix offers you exciting new series and films every week. You can find inspiration for your next movie night or cozy series marathon after season 2 of “The Witcher” in our Netflix Top 10.
