The Witcher: First details about season 3 known

The second season of The Witcher only started a few months ago, but fans are already looking forward to the coming season. Filming has even started and the first details are also available.

The Witcher: What is known about the third season so far

Filming for the next season of The Witcher has already begun. “Our family is back together. #TheWitcher Season 3 is officially in production!” reads the series’ official Twitter account and there is already a first picture to see, including plenty of snow. But what is already known about the story?

In an interview with TechRadar, showrunner Hissrich revealed that the story of the third season based on the book The Age of Contempt. Across from Collider, she dropped that another big story from Elven Legacy will also play a role.

This information does not reveal much, after all, some “The Witcher” novels contain short stories about Geralt and other acquaintances in different epochs of life. However, one can assume that it will also be in the third season dark and exciting, but humorous sections will not be neglected. If you enjoyed Season 2’s fluid timeline, rejoice. There will be no major leaps in time in the coming season either.

The Witcher: when will season 3 be out?

There is still no window, let alone a fixed release date. The previous seasons both came out in December. It is therefore possible that the upcoming season will be available from December 2022. If there are no incidents, that is even quite realistic.

After the third season, by the way, more will follow. A total of seven are planned and probably all of them will be filmed if the series remains as successful as it has been so far.
