The news has had the effect of a bombshell with fans of Henry Cavill and The Witcher. The British actor dropped his role as Geralt de Riv in the Netflix fantasy series and will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth from season 4.

So, when it came time for renegotiations with Netflix after season 3, the actor made the decision to slam the door. Is it the same for his playing partners? The rest of the main cast, including Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Freya Allan (Ciri), have also renegotiated their contracts and are set to return to their roles in the fourth season, according to Deadline.
The other actors of The Witcher will therefore all be there to welcome Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. At the moment, fans are struggling to digest this replacement and have even launched a petition to cancel the Netflix series and bring Henry Cavill back.
In the meantime, they will still be able to see the British actor one last time in season 3, which has been announced for summer 2023 on Netflix.
