The Witcher on Netflix: it’s one of the best episodes of season 3 and it was a headache to shoot

The interpreter of the witch Tissaia revealed to Collider which scene took the longest to shoot… and we understand why!

Season 3 of The Witcher is clearly one of the best in the series. More faithful to the books than the previous ones (apart from a few details), it is also of a better caliber in terms of fight scenes and costumes.

In these episodes, Geralt (Henry Cavill) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) want to find out which mage wants to get their hands on Ciri (Freya Allan). In order to investigate, the latter proposes to organize a Conclave which brings together all the parties.

Episode 5, titled The Art of Illusion, sees the return of the Witcher and Witch to Aretuza. But before starting a serious discussion, the guests of the Conclave decide to organize a small ball which will serve as a diversion for Geralt and Yennefer.

In an interview given to ColliderMyAnna Buring (Tissaia) reveals that the shooting of this scene lasted a month and that it was a real challenge for the director Loni Peristere.

The actors indeed had to shoot the scenes several times during this episode since it is told from different points of view. But the result is more than successful: from the sumptuous sets to the outfits of the protagonists (even Geralt plays the game) through the music, all this makes episode 5 one of the best of season 3 (and perhaps even from the series).

Besides the fact that it also marks the romantic reunion between Geralt and Yennefer, we learn that it is not Stregobor who is the villain of the story but Vilgefortz… A revelation that concludes the episode and triggers the battle of ‘Aretuza from episode 6, another highlight of season 3.
