While waiting for season 3 of The Witcher, scheduled for summer 2023, Netflix has released the prequel The Witcher: The Blood Legacy. This mini-series of four episodes, carried in particular by Michelle Yeoh, Sophia Brown and Laurence O’Fuarain is set in an elven world 1200 years before the world of The Witcher.
This spin-off tells a forgotten story: that of the origin of the very first witcher and the events that led to the “conjunction of the spheres”, when the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged into nothing more than ‘a.
A spin-off that did not convince
Highly anticipated by fans, The Witcher: Legacy of Blood made a sensational arrival on Netflix on December 25th. Subscribers rushed to the mini-series, which quickly rose to the top of the viewing charts.
Yet despite its tantalizing promise, the prequel didn’t quite win over fans. The latter did not fail to express their disappointment on social networks, even if they hope that the outcry caused by the spin-off will not taint the rest of the universe of The Witcher on Netflix.
