The Witcher Remake announced

Indeed, CD Projekt RED has just announced, via a post on Twitter and an article on the official website, that “Canis Majoris” is actually the remake of the very first opus The Witcher. The title is developed under the engine Unreal Engine 5by Polish studio Fool’s Theory, made up of veterans of The Witcher series. CD Projekt RED oversees the project.

At present, development of The Witcher Remake is still in its early stages. Thus, we should not see it land before 2024, if not later. Nevertheless, it’s a safe bet that Fool’s Theory and CD Projekt RED will unveil more details on this subject in the coming months. Of course, we will keep you informed as soon as new information becomes available.

On The Witcher Remake, CD Projekt RED Studio Director Adam Badowski said:

[Avec] The Witcher is where it all started for us, for CD Projekt RED. It was the first game we developed, and it was a big moment for us at the time. Going back and remaking the game for the next generation of players to experience seems just as important, if not more important. […] Collaborating with Fool’s Theory on the project is equally exciting, as some of the people on the team have been involved in the development of The Witcher games. […]

This news should delight fans of the Witcher universe. However, we will have to be patient before seeing and knowing more about The Witcher Remake.
