After a long wait, fans of The Witcher can finally look forward to season 4. After a first photo leaked on the internet, Netflix is now revealing a first teaser of Liam Hemsworth in the role of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher.
We shouldn’t get carried away too quickly either, Netflix only gives us 35 seconds of images during which we first see the reflection of his silhouette in the water, then his silhouette advancing in a thick fog like a pea puree. We finally see his back before he slowly turns around and finally shows his face.

Lauren S. Hissrich, showrunner of The Witcher, spoke to Entertainment Weekly of all that Liam Hemsworth brought to both the production and the role, stating:
“His appearance has been in development for over a year, which is why it’s exciting to finally share an official look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. The cast and crew were struck by the passion, energy and embodiment Liam brought to the character from day one – shaggy beard, iconic scar and all! We’re having a lot of fun filming Season 4 and can’t wait to welcome fans to join us on this journey.“
More changes to come
It came as a huge surprise when Henry Cavill’s departure was announced. Especially considering the praise he had received for his performance and passion for the character. The choice of Liam Hemsworth to replace him surprised many, but fans have since been impressed by his comments about the role, saying he might be a good choice after all.

But it’s not just the arrival of Hemsworth that will shake up the universe of The Witcher. Other big names are announced, and for characters very popular with fans of the books and games. This therefore includes the introduction of Laurence Fishburne who will play the barber-surgeon Regis, Sharlto Copley as the bounty hunter Leo Bonhart, James Purefoy as the spy and legal advisor Skellen and Danny Woodburn as Zoltan.
Production on the fourth season of The Witcher began very recently in April. We still don’t know its broadcast date but we shouldn’t hope to see it before 2025. And the series will conclude with the fifth season.
