The second season of the Netflix series “The Witcher” has a start date. Fans can look forward to new episodes at the end of 2021.

As part of the “WitcherCon”, Netflix has this Friday (July 9th) announced, when the second season of “The Witcher” with leading actor Henry Cavill (38) will premiere. The new episodes will be shown on the streaming service from December 17, 2021.

The cast around Henry Cavill, Freya Allan (19, Ciri) and Anya Chalotra (24, Yennefer) should increase by seven well-known actors in the new season, as the industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter” reported in March of this year. One of the newcomers is therefore Adjoa Andoh (58), known as Lady Danbury from “Bridgerton”. Also new: “Bridgerton” colleague Chris Fulton (32) and character mime Graham McTavish (60), known from “Outlander” among others.

That’s what the second “The Witcher” season is about

Geralt von Rivia (Cavill) is convinced in the second season that Yennefer died at the Battle of Sodden and brings the Princess Cirilla to his childhood home, Kaer Morhen. Outside, the kings, elves, humans and demons fight for supremacy, while Geralt has to protect the girl from the mysterious power within her.

The “The Witcher” series is based on the books by the Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski (73), which are also the model for a video game series.

Another highlight awaits the fans before the second “The Witcher” season: At the event on Friday it was also announced that the prequel anime “Nightmare of the Wolf” will start on August 23, 2021. Also a first trailer there is already a film about Geralt’s mentor Vesemir.
