The fourth season of the Netflix series “The Witcher” is eagerly awaited. Because the new episodes feature a change in the main cast: Witcher actor Henry Cavill, 41, left the show after season three. Australian Liam Hemsworth, 34, known from “The Hunger Games,” among others, will take over Cavill’s role for the final two seasons of the show. The streaming service also announced the start of production on season four. The final “Witcher” seasons adapt Sapkowski’s novels “Baptism of Fire,” “The Swallow Tower” and “The Lady of the Lake,” as Netflix noted in a blog post.

In addition to Liam Hemsworth, “The Witcher” actors Anya Chalotra (30, Yennefer von Vengerberg), Freya Allan (22, Princess Cirilla von Cintra) and Joey Batey (35, Jaskier) will be seen again in season four. According to Netflix, the new episodes will tell the different paths of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri, “who must travel separately through the war-ravaged continent with its many demons,” says the announcement. “If they succeed in winning over and leading the groups of outsiders among which they find themselves, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding their way back to one another.”
