The Witcher without Henry Cavill: the interpreter of Yennefer reacts to the departure of the actor

Comedian Anya Chalotra (Yennefer in “The Witcher”) spoke about the upcoming departure of Henry Cavill at the end of the third season of the Netflix series.

The third season of The Witcher – airing in two parts – will mark an important turning point in the broadcast of the hit series produced by Netflix. Because it is at the end of this season 3 that Henry Cavill will leave the program, bequeathing the role of the witcher Geralt of Rivia to Liam Hemsworth.

The announcement of Henry Cavill’s departure deeply saddened fans of the program, but the performers of the series were also caught off guard by the decision. This was revealed in particular by Anya Chalotra, the interpreter of Yennefer, during an interview granted to variety.

The British actress thus revealed that it was not until the end of the filming of the third season that the departure of Henry Cavill was formalized with the team. An announcement that has not damaged the ties that unite the stars of the cast, as evidenced by the latter’s recent praise to his playing partners during Tudum (and his tackle addressed to the writers of the series).

“We didn’t find out until the end of filming. It’s always an emotional moment when we finish filming a season – it marks the end of an eight-month shoot with a whole working crew”she said, adding:

We all felt a sense of loss, he was by our side from day one. We have faced many hardships together. This ends a five-year collaboration not only in The Witcher universe, but also during the pandemic – all of these things have created a very strong bond between us.

However, Anya Chalotra also reveals her impatience to work with Liam Hemsworth, whom she has not yet met, “but with whom we have already exchanged by email”.

“We didn’t have an affinity test. I didn’t participate in his casting. But I’m very excited to discover his version of Geralt. And it’s only from this time that we can define the dynamics of our group” she added.

The third is to be discovered in two parts on Netflix from June 29 for part 1, and on July 27 for the second part.
