Mountains are not only there in winter. There are 18 four-thousand-meter peaks around Saas-Fee and the Saas Valley – an impressive backdrop for all kinds of leisure activities, especially in summer.
The green meadows of the Saas Valley belong to hikers among others at this time of year. You can take on 350 kilometers of hiking trails in the Saas Valley. Lighter and more difficult, shadier and sunnier ones, those in ancient Swiss stone pine forests and those above the tree line.

It is even the ideal time of year to perhaps conquer a four-thousand-meter peak for the first time. Saas-Fee’s local mountain, the Allalinhorn (4027 m above sea level), can be reached in the company of a mountain guide from the Mittelallalin station. Surefootedness and a certain basic level of fitness are a prerequisite. However, if you really want to climb, there are various via ferratas in the region, for example the one on the Jegihorn.
