A program launched in 2016, the Xbox Design Lab makes a resounding return with all new possibilities. Microsoft has just announced the arrival of new customization options.

Enough to offer a unique design to your future controller.

A true laboratory of ideas

In addition to the limited editions that can be found online or in stores, Xbox controllers can also be dressed in tailor-made dresses according to the player’s preferences. This is what the Xbox Design Lab has been doing for several years. This week, Microsoft formalized the expansion of its program which now includes even more customization tools.

Thus, the original pastel colors that are the Soft Pink (pink), Soft Orange, Soft Green (green) and Soft Purple (purple) are now selectable when crafting an Xbox controller. Additional variations for the camouflage range are also included. For example, you can choose from the facades Mineral Camo, Arctic Camo, Forest Camo, Sandglow Camo and Blaze Camo. All the variations are illustrated in the video below.

It’s your controller!

In addition to the 29 colors and other camouflage patterns available, the Xbox Design Lab has a wide range of possibilities for all aspects of the controller. The color of the buttons can, for example, also be personalized. The player can also add metallic finishes, different textured surfaces as well as an engraving in the form of a short phrase. In short, the handles, triggers, joysticks, the directional cross, the front and the back of the controller can be fully customized.

The standard price for a controller made through the Xbox Design Lab is set at €69.99. Of course, this price will be revised upwards by choosing to add options such as engraving which is charged at €9.99. Anyway, it’s a good way to design an accessory that looks like you.
