Xiaomi is preparing to unveil two new smartphones next month in France, the Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro. Just before their launch, the cheapest model has already been spotted on the Geekbench benchmark.
Last month, we exclusively unveiled the first image of the Xiaomi 12T Pro as well as most of its technical characteristics. Today, it’s up to the classic Xiaomi 12T to be talked about. The device, which bears the model number 22071212AG, has just been spotted on the Geekbench benchmark with a well-known MediaTek chip, the Dimensity 8100. We already find the latter in other very popular smartphones such as the Poco X4 GT, or even more recently in the Reno 8 Pro from OPPO.
It’s about one of the most powerful chips for mid-range smartphones, and that’s exactly what we can see on the Xiaomi 12T benchmark. The processor scores 753 points on one core, and 2990 points on multiple cores. It will therefore be much less powerful than the Xiaomi 12T Pro, which is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, but the performance will still be there. The processor has 8 cores, 4 being clocked at 2.85 GHz, while 4 others have a frequency of 2.00 GHz.
The Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro would arrive as early as October
While we thought the Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro would launch in September, now it seems more likely that both devices will arrive with us next month. We will therefore have to wait a few more weeks before we can try them.
In addition to the MediaTek Dimensity 8100, the Xiaomi 12T is expected to be equipped with a 1.5K OLED display (2712 x 1220 pixels) with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. triple-camera setup with a new 108 MP HM6 main camera from Samsung, an 8 MP ultra wide-angle sensor as well as a 2 MP macro sensor. We will also find a 5000 mAh battery with 120 W fast chargingbut wireless charging will not be part of it.
According to leaker @_snoopytech_, the Xiaomi 12T Pro will be marketed from 849 euros in its version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It will be necessary to count 649 euros for the classic Xiaomi 12T. Three colors will be available for both models: blue, silver and black.
