The Xiaomi 12X is available: a compact model with a Snapdragon 870

After the Xiaomi 12 Pro (€1099) and Xiaomi 12 (€899), it’s the most affordable smartphone in the range. The Chinese brand today announces the marketing of the Xiaomi 12X 5G. While the Xiaomi 12 Pro, tested in our columns, is billed at €1,099, the 12X is announced at €799.90 in its 8/256 GB version. In a pack combining it with a pair of Xiaomi Buds 3 (whites), it is charged €849.90. The smartphone is available in grey, blue and purple.

In terms of features, the smartphone deviates quite a bit from the rest of the range, sporting a 6.28-inch Amoled screen (120 Hz, 2400 x 1080 pixels) and hiding not a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, but a Snapdragon 870. It is also equipped with a 4500 mAh battery compatible with 67 W charging. Its triple photo module is based on a 50 megapixel main sensor (f / 1.9 wide-angle optics), a 13 megapixels (ultra wide-angle) and a last 5 megapixel, dedicated to macro. The configuration is therefore strictly identical to that of the Xiaomi 12, with the exception of its SoC and its charging system: it is only wired on the 12X. Finally, it should be noted that the whole thing weighs 176 grams and measures 152.7 x 69.9 x 8.16 mm, which makes it a relatively compact smartphone on the current market.
