We can say that Xiaomi’s Smart Cooking Robot has been long overdue. Unveiled in small touches, the product was made available last December, discreetly, on the manufacturer’s website. But it was then a mistake, and the robot cooker had almost instantly disappeared from the brand’s shelves. Six months later, Xiaomi finally made its robot cooker available on the French market; a quick tour of the manufacturer’s online shop indeed allowed us to see that the Smart Cooking Robot was sold at 999 €, a “reasonable” price and consistent with the average price of a robot cooker (1000 €).
Price point pulled drastically therefore, as Xiaomi is used to doing on its other product categories and like Lidl with its Monsieur Cuisine Smart (400 €). This robot-cooker will fight against the models of Moulinex, Magimix or Kenwood, which sign high-end robot-cookers. Note that the Smart Cooking Robot has a very attractive technical sheet, close to that of the Thermomix TM6 from Vorwerk sold at 1359 €.
