Honor is preparing the announcement of its new high-end smartphone, the Magic 6 Pro. It will feature a periscopic lens allowing lossless zooms up to x100.
At Honor, a new year means a new range of smartphones. Almost a year after the announcement of its Honor Magic 5 Pro in China – a smartphone which was finally released in France a few months later, in April 2023 – the Chinese manufacturer is now preparing to move up a gear superior with the upcoming announcement of its new high-end smartphone, the Honor Magic 6 Pro.
As reported by the site GSM Arena, Honor’s boss, George Zhao, shared this Tuesday on the social network Weibo a first visual of the back of the future Honor Magic 6 Pro. He also comments on the design choices of the rear module, using both a round shape and a square shape intended to “take inspiration from historical civilization and the beauty of nature“. The smartphone will also be offered in a previously unseen light blue color.
A camera allowing x100 zoom
In terms of characteristics, we can discover, within this very large photo module, nothing less than three lenses positioned in a triangle. At the top, the smartphone should accommodate a periscopic lens camera, recognizable by its rectangular shape. An annotation “100X» also suggests that the smartphone could achieve up to 100x lossless hybrid zoom, like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. We therefore imagine that the other two devices will allow you to capture photos in wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle mode. Next to it, on the right, we can also see what appears to be a ToF module to better analyze the depth for the portrait mode.
In addition, the leaker Digital Chat Station also published several renderings of the smartphone on Weibo, including visuals where we can see it from the front. The smartphone would thus be entitled to a pill-shaped punch, like the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, with two selfie cameras. The Honor Magic 6 Pro would also be entitled to a curved screen on the sides. Finally, according to information from the leaker, the phone would be offered in four storage versions – 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB – and in five colors – black, white, green, purple or cyan.
The Honor Magic 6 Pro should be officially presented on January 10 by the Chinese manufacturer. However, this presentation should initially only concern the Chinese market and we will probably have to wait a few more months before a European announcement.
